Ingredients
- 2 apples of choice (Stayman Winesap apples are a recommended option. For a tarter, tangier taste, Granny Smith apples can also work.)
Toppings of Choice
- ¼ cup nuts of choice (e.g. chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, sliced almonds)
- ¼ cup chocolate chips of choice (e.g. dark, milk, white chocolate)
- 2 Tbsp shredded coconut
- Ground cinnamon
Sauces of Choice
- ¼ cup nut butter of choice (e.g. peanut butter, almond butter, Trader Joe’s mixed nut butter)
- ¼ cup caramel sauce
- ¼ cup hot fudge sauce or chocolate sauce
Instructions
- Wash, core, and cut apples into thin ~¼” slices. (Note: If this dish will not be served and enjoyed immediately, apples may be tossed in 1 Tbsp. lemon juice to help prevent browning.)
- Lay apple slices in a single layer across a serving plate.
- Layer with any toppings of choice (e.g. nuts, chocolate chips, shredded coconut).
- Drizzle with any sauces of choice (e.g. nut butter, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce). Drizzling with a plastic squeeze bottle is recommended. Note that nut butters need to be warmed until somewhat runny before drizzling.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top if desired.
